7. Bend the legs of the cotter pin over the top of the spindle, so that the spindle nut will not back off (the spindle nut should freely move with your fingers, being held in place by the cotter pin, while the hub should not have noticeable movement when pulled back & forth)

What Is Needed To Change A Trailer Hub?

To successfully replace a trailer hub, the following tools and materials are required:

• Floor Jack & Jack Stand. The floor jack will lift the trailer frame, while the jack stand will keep it lifted, to ensure that the wheels can be safely removed.
